Quick Clip from Saturday Session at the O.G.

It has been about 2 weeks since I had made it to the O.G. to hang out with the rest of the crew. I was checking out Facebook in the morning when I saw that Chris Anderson was already there riding.

Coffee And flat. — at The OG.
After a few messages back and forth amongst some of the crew members. We made plans to meet at the O.G. after dinner when it was much cooler out side.
Upon arrival I found Chris Anderson still busting out after being there all day with Adam DiClaudio and Tod Miller. We were also joined by Cullen,David Larocca and John Yull. The session went on till late in the night. We were not doing much filming but here is a quick clip of one of the combinations I have been working on for the Texas Flatland Round Up 8!

Filming Down Town ATX

On June 2, 2012 the ATX Crew got together to do some filming downtown for Jim McKay. We helped bring Jim's vision to light. I took some photos during the process. It was a really fun day outside of the O.G.

On March 5, 2011 a group of University of Texas students did filmed a documentary that included interviews and footage from the legendary Oltorf Garage. This video documents the documentation by this project team. They had only a couple of days to film edit and present the finish product. It will be made available after the project has been graded and released back to all the students. So keep checking bmxfreestyler.com for updates.

A Celebration of Handmade Bicycles and Other Austin Originals

Saturday, February 26, 2011, 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Bicycle Sport Shop, 517 S. Lamar

The North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS), a showcase of talented individuals from around the world whose original art form is the bicycle, is coming to Austin February 25 through 27. And we're inviting these talented custom builders to Bicycle Sport Shop for a party with a few of our own local originals, including Real Ale, music by The Rust Tones, Amy's Ice Cream, Austin Barbecue Co., a photography exhibit by Austin Details and more.

BRING YOUR HAND-BUILT BIKE

If you own a hand-built bike like the ones featured at NAHBS, bring it to the party and show off your personal Austin original. A photographer will be in-store to take a portrait of you and your bike. Plus, all hand-built bikes can be parked inside the store during the party.

So, come meet the people who make bike building an art, and celebrate the original and handmade in its many forms

Photos by Gary First

On Saturday the 15 of January 2011 you would have thought Saturday session in the ATX would have been small due to the weather. It has been raining here for the past 3 days straight. It was cool enough to wear a long sleeves and the O.G. even though it is covered leaks. The amount to space to ride was drastically cut down by small bodies of water dividing up the garage. Amazingly enough we had a total of 16 people out to ride. We even had 2 street riders Mike and Eric and a skater by the name of Tom.
Added to the list of special guest soon to be a regular was Gary First.

This is Tod Miller talking about the very inspiring Gary First.

Gary is now 55 years old and still busting out and was nice enough to take a few photos during his session at the O.G.  Enjoy!

Package in the Mail

Today about 8:00 A.M  received a text message from Terry Adams. He was asking me if I received a package in the mail. I wasn't expecting one. Mostly all we get in the mail are bills. We were getting ready for the work day and my wife was headed out so she said she would check the mail box.
I was thinking to my self as I was walking back to the house. I don't think I have ever received a package from Terry Adams before. I wonder what is inside?

I just about flipped when I open up the package. It was his new Flick Trix Bike. I had heard they have made it to Texas so I started looking just yesterday at Wal-Marts and Target. I didn't find one. But this one is very special. It was sent by Terry and even has his autograph.
Thanks you so much Terry. I will put this on display in my home. You totally took me by surprise.

For those who may not know who Terry Adams is just watch this Video
