Julio Cotto's Perserverance

Julio Cotto has been working on this combo for a very long time. He has never given up and called it quits. He kept trying this over and over again and again. Way back in the day he pulled is arm out of his socket trying this trick. That was not enough to make him stop trying.

This was a very great moment in time that was captured at the perfect time. In front of many other riders. Amazing day with amazing friends. Great job Julio!

Rad Dad's 45th Birthday Jam

In Celebration of my 45th Birthday I threw a jam at my home riding spot. I knew I would be working on my birthday so it only made sence to throw it the weekend before my actual birthday. Several of my friends were able to make it out for a day of riding. It was a great time with good friends. Donna was able to capture many of the great moments that went down. Enjoy the photos and video highlights. 45 and still riding!

Slab Jam

Just some friends getting together on a nice Saturday to ride. We hooked up with some other BMX dudes and sessioned in this lot all afternoon. We ended with a little contest. I rode in it, so you know I didn't film everything. Anyways, nothing serious here, just showing you some of it. Next time come out! :)

The King of the Slab

The King of the Slab was a contest held in San Antonio,Texas hosted by Diego Tejada. It was a great day of fun and at the end Aaron Frost was the winner of the trophy after a series of battle rounds. Everyone had a great time and its always a good time with friends. We even saw a few old friends that we had not seen in awhile and made some new ones too. Jim McKay did some filming so we will be on the look out for a edit of a few tricks. I did a few still shots with my phone camera just so I could help capture the moment. Please enjoy the photos and feel free to share them with your friends.

Last Thirty of Thirties by Jeff Scheer

This video was sent to me by Jeff and I am truly honored Jeff that you thought of BMX Freestyler to have it hosted by. I love the concept and I would not be surprised if this was a growing trend.
Last Thirty - Of Thirties from Jeff Scheer on Vimeo.

With my 40th B-day a week away, I wanted to make a last edit for my thirties. I created a thirty clip edit without any video effects or extra non riding scenes. Just a fast paced, clip after clip style, of some of my tricks of 2012. Heavy on brakeless decades, since one of the decades in my life is coming to an end. In order to fit the 30 clips into a reasonable length, I used many shorter tricks, and didn't use really long combos.
This year I rode brakeless quite a bit, although some clips I do have a front brake only. All the decade / Smith decade stuff, boomerangs, and pinkie squeaks are brakeless. Some of the tricks I came up with myself and have never seen anyone do. The no kick double turbined one handed steam at 4:50 is my invention, along with the original combo at 2:45 and a few other things I've never seen done before...
Hope everyone enjoys the video!

Episode 2.0 by Mercs Media

EPISODE 2.0 from MERCS MEDIA on Vimeo.

Art Thomason's Landing Pad Session

From Left to right Kelly Baldwin,Omari Cato,Mark Dandridge,Art Tomason, May Tomason,Jesse Edwards,Charlie Hawkins,Hector Garcia, Cesar Calderon,Johnny Tamayo,Marty Ferryman, Alex Jumelin

On October 6, 2012 Art Thomason had a backyard barbecue jam to introduce everyone to his new riding spot. It was dubbed The Landing Pad by Marty since Art works for NASA. It was a great time and made me think if Art's Landing Pad would become as epic as "The Enchanted Ramp". There was plenty of room for everyone to throw down links. It was almost like a pre-toast jam since most everyone that attended will be going to Texas Toast/Roundup.

Traveling the greatest distance to attend this party was Alex Jumelin. It was great to be able to hang out with Alex in such a relaxed environment. He was riding his new bike that appeared on the Saint Martin Site for a bike check.

Jesse Edwards was filming this event. He captured many great moments. I am not sure but I am thinking Cesar Calderon has the most completed links on film. He was landing tricks left and right. Death trucks to Stick, Backpackers and even a new maneuver that he may show at Toast/Roundup. I will post the video that Jesse puts together after he gets it posted.
Missing from the group shot is Andrew. He had to leave early to go to work. He threw down a few tricks before leaving. He was helping Art with lights for the Landing Pad so the session can go on even when it gets dark.

Art and Carrie were very gracious host. They cooked some great food for everyone on the grill. Marty brought some great Jalapeno wraps for everyone to enjoy as well. It was a blast being apart of such a very cool laid back party.

Thank you Art for having everyone over to your Landing Pad. It was well worth the drive to wittiness the days events for myself. With a combination of  the 3 F's flatland, friends and food it doesn't get much better than this.
