Trick of the Month 2012 Edition

Trick of the month as been a staple of BMX Freestyler since it started in 2004. We took a year break in 2007 but brought it back again in 2008 and was going strong every year. There were serveral success stories and small victories in the community of riders. But due to what seemed like a lack of interest the first 2 months of 2012 Trick of the Month was deactivated and taken out as a feature link. Major props to Global Flat khe killah for sparking a interest again in the community I am proud to say that it is indeed coming back for 2012. The list is now out and you can start filming and sending  in your submissions each month. Here is the list for the year.

March - Steam Roller
April- Lung Spin
May- Backwards Cliffhanger
June- Stick B
July- Crackpacker - Moya
August- Lard Yard
September- Hitchhiker
October- Mega Spin
November- Endo
December- Trolley

Special shout out to Vic Roman who works hard to keep things going as well. Your motivation is very much appreciated!

Keep on Riding!

Session at Solms Park

A few weeks ago I was surfing on Global-Flat and I was looking at the rider hook up forum. That when I ran across a post from Old Yeller looking for riders in the San Antonio area.

I met up with Old Yeller on this Saturday for a great 2 hour session. We only live about 20 minutes from each other so we are pretty close. We will be able to have regular riding sessions together during the week. Maybe next week we will head up to the O.G. And ride with rest of the ATX Crew.

Special thanks to Donna for taking the photos while we were riding.

While we riding there were two younger kids wanting to know how to get into flatland. I told them I would post a link to Ground Rules. Here ya go!

Batland Flatland-intro

well i had to take a small break from working on this project as i celebrated the birth of my baby girl Bunny! She is six months old now and life is pretty much back to normal which means riding flatland. This project was gonna be a dvd, but who does that anymore? Vimeo is here to save us from all those silver frisbees, so look for a series of Web edits instead. Here is some of Atx flatland crews finest doing what we do. Enjoy!

Inside Greg Jam

Austin is unique in the US; in that we have a long established riding scene here with a central "spot" to ride. Lot's of riders over the years have made a stop here at the OG to ride with us, and today I'm pleased to show you this little slice of life bit from our jam with Greg "the steez" Tylosky. I just made that nickname up right now. He's rad at bikes.

Greg came to visit us from Seatle, and to spend a week here just enjoying Austin. It was a real treat to see his sick controlled street + flatland style, and ride with him.

The day of the jam, and the day before was sadly just miserably wet and chilly. Not everyone believed that it would be "worth" riding, but for those of us that attended; it totally was!

This is a vibe video- not a greatest hits video. I'm taking you with me inside our rainy little jam at the OG.

Flatweb TV Episode#14

In this episode of FlatWebTV we lament the demise of this year's
Circle Cow and relive some of the great moments that contest has
brought us in past years. We also catch up (kind of) with Andrew Faris
and take a look at the new Dephect Clothing edit from Matti Hemmings.

This month's big interview is with AMFLT's own Steve Lapsley. Steve
gives us the skinny on the newly announced 2012 circuit as well as the
slight class changes. He also makes the exclusive announcements for
stops 3 and 4.

A few small notes about upcoming FlatWebTV stuff sneak in as well. All
this and the usual nonsense in this month's episode of FlatWebTV.
