The Texas Flatland Round UP 6 After Party had Dane Beardsley as a special guest. It was very cool and almost unreal because know one knew he was coming out. I remember looking up in this mass of people and seeing Dane and my mouth just dropped. After the Contest a few of us went to the Oltorf aka OG for after party session. Here are a few highlights from the session along with Bonus footage from the Round Up.

Pretty stoked on this segment. I had the TV show transworld sport travel to my home town & spend a full 3 days with me. They basically filmed my riding, my life and really got a feel of who I am as a person and a professional athlete. Long story short... I am really stoked on how it turned out!
It will be playing in 100 countries starting next week. But I have decided to post the video online so all you guys can check it out! Please check it out feel free to pass it around!!

On October 4, 2010 Adam DiClaudio turned 27. The way that we helped Adam celebrate his birthday was to come to the O.G. and have a B-Day Jam. At the Jam was Adam, Rad Dad, Brett,Randall and Mariah-Rae. Most of the session was recorded by setting up the camera at one end of the garage and letting it run the most of the time. Any time some one landed a completed trick I would run up to the camera and mark that part of the video with my hand for 5 seconds. During the last part of the session Adam and I were talking about his new 360 flip and how he landed it 2 times back to back but it was not on film yet. There was 8 minutes left on tape. Adam took a few spills but he got it in less than 8 minutes with about 2 minutes to spare. Hope you had fun on your birthday Adam!
There will be a pre jam held for Round up 6 on Friday October 8, 2010. The jam will start at 7:00 P.M. and last until your ready to stop. It will be held at the Oltorf Garage in Austin,Texas. There is about 32 miles from the O.G. from the contest venue. For anyone that may be planning on staying in Austin for the night. We will see you at the Texas Flatland Round Up 6 Pre Jam
Here is what went down last year in 2009 at Round Up 5 Pre Jam
WHO: South Texas’ top BMX riders, on their own version of the steel horse, ready to track down some of the most “criminal” tricks in BMX today. Riders are competing for quite a bounty - $4,000 - or roughly the reward for the Sundance Kid’s head.
WHAT: Red Bull Most Wanted captures the spirit of the notorious bounty hunting of the Wild Wild West, where outlaws like Jesse James and Butch Cassidy roamed the land and evaded local sheriffs. “Wanted” posters offered huge rewards for their capture, dead or alive.
Competing riders will navigate up alleys, down rails, over obstacles, and through iconic ride spots around Austin in search the “most wanted” BMX tricks.
Riders will meet at Empire BMX, where 60 bounties (a bounty is a specific BMX trick to be performed at a specific location) will be offered up to them. The riders will then attempt to “capture” them and earn the amount of cash that each bounty is worth.
Following the competition, at 3:00 p.m., a BMX jam session open to the public will begin at the infamous Ninth Street Trails. There, local riders will have the chance to prove their skills and earn cash of their own.
Today in Round Rock, Texas we had a ground breaking flatland session. Riders included Chris,Joseph Rob and myself Rad Dad. We all live with in 5 miles of each other and we just recently found out during a few blog comments and facebook messages that were recently exchanged. We rode in a perfectly flat pavilion that was just perfect for riding flatland. We are going to make this a weekly mid week session to session with each other in our different spots. We started off by riding in Rob's spot at the pavilion. Maybe next week we will hit up the Ville. We are definitely going to hit up Team McDuff and session at the park.
This was the first of many session to come. If you missed it check out Robs email to me that sparked all of this.
This whole experience brought up how bmx freestyler got started. For those that have been around long enough you might still remember Find A Riding Buddy. I started that a long time ago but due to lack up accurate information I had to let it go. It makes me think now. What if I was to build another data base again to help other riders find riders. Its a idea that I might run with in 2011.
Luke Malone is busting out with a Today's Riding video. Thanks Luke!! Are you riding today? Send your today's riding videos to webmaster@bmxfreestyler.com
I gave up on riding flatland in 1998. Six months ago I was surfing Youtube and stumbled onto your "My first decade" vid. I went into the basement dusted of my Quamen and I've been rollin hard ever since. Thanks for the inspiration, keep it up man!!!!!!
Adam Diclaudio turned 27 on October 4, 2010. A few of us got together at the Oltorf Garage to celebrate and ride some flatland together. A full length video and photos will be going up latter on so for now you get 1 short clip of Adam's newest switch. I am not even going to try and explain it you just got to see it for your self. Happy Birthday Adam!
Today was a great day for email as I found an AWESOME email from Rob who just so happens to live in Texas and right up the street from me. I had to put this email in the BMX Freestyler Mail Bag because if this is not total motivation. I don't know what is. Thanks for the email Rob. Looking forward to riding with you soon.
Hey, this is kinda weird. I just found your video for "My First Decade" on youtube and sent it to my wife. She'd been wondering if anybody 'my age' even rides. She's very supportive of everything I do, but I had stopped riding by the time we met 10 years ago. So this whole 'freestyling' thing is completely foreign to her. Well, she loved the video and especially loved your enthusiasm and huge smile after you landed that decade!
You see, I'm 37 and just started riding flatland again. Like most people, I stopped riding around 1990 and recently got the bug to start up again for no particular reason. I went to the garage and found the remnants of my '87 GT Pro Freestyle Tour. It was missing both wheels, the seat post, seat, and strange things like the left pedal and the upper gyro plate. What the hell happened to my upper gyro plate and left pedal? I'll never know... but in any case, I found bmxmuseum.com and have been buying parts to restore it. Well, that shit was taking too long. So I broke down and bought a used 2010 DK Opsis off of Austin Craigslist in the meantime (I'm still putting together my 87 PFT, but damn those old parts are pricey!)
I got on the Opsis about a month ago, and holy shit it felt weird. I thought I'd just jump on and be pulling boomerangs and decades by the end of the week... hoping it'd all 'just come back to me', but nope. I found I could barely pop a wheelie! After a few sessions, I got to the point where I could kinda do a stupid tailwhip. I'm riding maybe 30-45 minutes a few times a week right now. Well, after a 5-6 more sessions, I finally pulled off a damn tailwhip, and I'm thinking... wow, this would be so much better if I had someone to ride with... not one of those crazy 18 year olds that can spin forever on one wheel (not that there's anything wrong with that!), but someone that's sorta starting out. That's when I came across your video. And wow, was that ever inspiring! Then I found out that you ride in Austin! I'm in Round Rock. I know, it's all the way across town, but I think I can get down to the OG on Saturday afternoons. Disclaimer: I'm super terrible right now. ;)
At my high point (20 years ago) I could do decades, whiplashes, elephant glides, side glides, hang fives, fire hydrants, backyards, frontyards... a lot of crap. And like I said, now I can barely pull off tailwhips! But watching videos like yours (and axlepeg's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNS7mfu2Hpo) really keep me motivated.
Just wondering... how many old guys (30+) are out there riding at the OG? I don't wanna embarrass myself... haha.
This player is dedicated to "Today's Riding Videos" You can catch me riding pretty much on a regular basis. Come here to check out whats going on today or catch up on what you have missed.
