Hecktor Dangus-Double Decade

This double decade ranks as high as my first decade. I have known Hector Dangus for many years and he had been chasing the double decade longer than I had been wanting to do a decade.

Message from Hecktor Dangus
Thanks Mark! It's been years since a new trick has gotten me as psyched as this one. I've been trying it since I saw Martin Aparijo do it in Freestylin' Magazine, which means since either '86 or '87.....25 years, finally learned it!

BMX Worlds 2012 Press Release

BMX Worlds 2012: International top stars at the start

Markus Reuss of Wuppertal leads German team in Kölner Jugendpark

Freestyle-Show with BMX legend Bob Haro

Cologne, June 22, 2012. Only three more weeks to go: From July 13-15, 2012, Cologne will once again be the pilgrimage site for the international BMX scene. About 400 pros and amateurs from around the world will come to the Jugendpark at the Zoobrücke near Cologne-Müllheim, to show what they can do in the disciplines of Dirt, Park, Street, Flatland and Vert. Germany will provide the biggest team, 68 riders, at the BMX Freestyle World Championships, followed by Great Britain (38) and the motherland of BMX, the USA, with 30.

The German team will be led by Markus Reuss of Wuppertal. The 19-year-old starts in the team of event sponsor Monster Energy and has big plans for this „home“ event. „I am looking forward to the BMX weekend in Cologne. I will again see friends and riders who I haven't run into for a long time,“ said Markus Reuss, who will be at the start in the disciplines Dirt, Park and Street. „Getting into the finals would be an absolute dream. With a good run, anything is possible. But the competition is really tough and you always need a bit of luck.“

In addition to Reuss, British superstar Harry Main will also start for the Monster Energy team. The 21-year-old from Liverpool finished fifth on the Mini-Ramp in 2008 at the BMX Masters, the most important BMX contest in the world, which is held annually in Cologne. Last April he was third in the „Simple Session 2012“ in Estonia and is one of the favourites in Cologne. The Monster Energy team also features USA's Pat Casey and Brazilian Leandro Moreira as well as Czech half-pipe rider Jan Valenta and Flatland-wonder Adam Kun of Hungary.

Amongst the favourites in the fight for the highly-sought-after trophy in the BMX Worlds 2012 are the two Americans Anthony Napolitan and Brett Banasiewicz. The fans at the Jugendpark will have good memories of Napolitan. The 26-year-old top rider from Youngstown, Ohio, won the Dirt title in 2009. Banasiewicz, of South Bend, Indiana, better known in the BMX scene as „Mad Dog“, won the Park title in 2010 and was second in Dirt. In 2011, when he was only 17, he was sixth in Park.

Another favourite is coming all the way from Caracas, Venezuela: Daniel Dhers. The 27-year-old won the Park discipline last year at the BMX Masters. In 2009 he won the World Championship title on the Mini-Ramp in Cologne, and in 2008 he also won the Park title in the BMX Masters.

„Cologne has a long BMX tradition and we are proud of the world's best BMX riders,“ said Cologne organizer Stephan Prantl. „Again this year thousands of fans will make the journey to Cologne, to see the international top stars of the scene live and in person. For one whole weekend, our hometown of Cologne will be the world center of BMX!“

There will be more than pro and amateur sport offered on the weekend of July 13-15. Prantl and his team of helpers are offering all visitors a lively program with lots of action and party music in the evenings. There will also be the legendary free-style show team of BMS legend Bob Haro with stars from the 1980s.

HERE is the info:

The Weekend Ticket (Friday to Sunday) is available beforehand for 25 Euros. Entry for Friday is eight Euros. Saturday and Sunday cost 10 Euros each. Children up to 100cm tall are allowed in free.

Quick Clip from Saturday Session at the O.G.

It has been about 2 weeks since I had made it to the O.G. to hang out with the rest of the crew. I was checking out Facebook in the morning when I saw that Chris Anderson was already there riding.

Coffee And flat. — at The OG.
After a few messages back and forth amongst some of the crew members. We made plans to meet at the O.G. after dinner when it was much cooler out side.
Upon arrival I found Chris Anderson still busting out after being there all day with Adam DiClaudio and Tod Miller. We were also joined by Cullen,David Larocca and John Yull. The session went on till late in the night. We were not doing much filming but here is a quick clip of one of the combinations I have been working on for the Texas Flatland Round Up 8!

Dominik Nekolny Wins 2012 Flatland Voodoo Jam in New Orleans

After a two-year hiatus the Flatland Voodoo Jam returned to Generations Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana. Just as expected, both the floor and balcony were filled to capacity and the energy was at an all-time high as more than 50 riders from eight different countries competed in the Veteran, Amateur, and Pro classes of what was no doubt the most anticipated flatland event on North American soil this year.

With event organizer and industry icon Scott O'Brien on the mic, and former BMX rider and local DJ MKULTRAsound on the turntables, the nightclub atmosphere came to life and gave both the riders and spectators a New Orleans experience they will never forget.

In the Amateur class, Canada's Mark Kuhlman of Team Pralex fame took his first big win at an international event and earned him the chance to ride again in the pro class where he held his own, put together his best run of the night, and finished in a respectable 12th place.

The Pro class was stacked with talented riders, and with a one-run qualifying format, just making it into the ten-man finals was a feat in and of itself. Of the ten who moved on to the finals, the top five rode for a third time and went head-to-head in a battle-style super finals of sorts to fight for those coveted spots on the podium. When the dust settled, Dominik Nekolny out of the Czech Republic took the top spot with the U.S.' Matt Wilhelm and event co-organizer and local hero Terry Adams rounding out the top three.

The 2012 Flatland Voodoo Jam is sponsored by: Red Bull, Dan's Comp, Flatland Fuel, Freegun Underwear, Raising Cane's, Deco, 430 Clothing, Diversion TV, Odyssey, Flatware, Fiksd Apparel, Neue Creative, and Purple Monkey.
