On October 27, 2007 The Austin Texas Flatland Crew threw the Welcome Back Baby Back Jam for David Weathersby. David had been riding in
the Texas State Fair for the past 30 days. This was our way of saying we are very proud of you and we want to welcome you back home. The Jam
was hosted by Jim McKay. The riding spot is incredibly smooth and fast. Its a brand new sub division in the southern tip of Austin. This brought
many people together from many parts of the Texas area. It spread from Dallas all the way to Corpus Cristi and many cities in between.
The unofficial head count was about 35 riders/family & friends, gathered together to have a full day of riding and cooking out. Wilda Dandridge
aka Mrs. Rad Dad along with help from Nora Cotto and Caleb Dandridge cooked up Burgers & Chicken for everyone. There were no lights at the
riding spot so we rode until there was no more light and we moved the Jam to our regular Saturday Spot, The Oltorf Garage.
Many of the riders who had traveled a long distance to attend the jam, needed to get back on to the road. We still had a sizable about of riders
at the O.G. That was when the magic really started to happen and the creativity started to flow. We started to play games while riding and the
price was $1.00. We did things like the best Lardyard and landing a jump to steam on a very heavy bike. That was when things started to get very
interesting about this particular bike. This bike is owned by William. It has both front and back brakes. We started to have an Old School Session.
We broke out Lawnmores, Smith Decades, Cherry Pickers and Miami Hoppers and Hop Hops and many more very cool old school tricks.
The evening ended about 11:30 PM as the last 3 people were still hanging out and talking, David, Diego and Mathew. It was a incredible time with
friends and family. We witnessed some incredible links and tricks and just had a great time being able to hang out among each other. There was
talk about making this a Annual Event at the same riding spot. Keep looking out for future jams in the Austin Area. I am sure we will throw another
one in December.
