What got you started?
What inspires you to ride?
How did you find out about Vintage BMX?
When I would be online, I would always look up old school
freestyle. Pictures, stories....great stuff. I basically stumbled across
the site one day. It was really cool to see there are lots of guys who
share the same memories.
What is your favorite topic?
I really enjoy the pictures the guys submit, Now or old, its all
great. One of these days I'll actually get mine up there.
What was your first trick?
Infinity Roll or Tailwhip
What is your hardest trick?
Probably a Miami Hopper
What is your best memory?
Basically, I loved riding with my brother and friends. We always
had a great time. Great summer nights, and also some cold
winters, LOL. Loved the GT show in 87 with Fiola....Loved the
87 AFA...
What is your worst memory?
Basically when all the pros I knew stopped riding. I'd look in a
magazine and did not recognize anyone. I didn't really buy into
the new image.
Last words.....
Just ride to have fun. Doesn't matter how good or bad you
are...if you enjoy it, keep doing it!
A friend of mine who was into bmx in the early 80's gave me a
stack of bmx action magazines one day. That's when I first saw
Bob Haro and RL doing tricks like endos, rollbacks, hops, ect. I
recieved my 1st bmx bike around that time. Rad came out shortly
after that and I was hooked. My 1st freestyle bike was a GT World
Tour. I was never very good but I had fun doing a lot of the basics.
I loved Eddie Fiola, Ron Wilkerson Martin, Woody, RL ect.
Riding was something I really enjoyed growing up I've never been
one to really let go of the past. Even though I haven't really followed
the sport in 14 years, I've always revisited the old school. I guess I
figured since I'm pushing 35, I better get out and enjoy some more
riding while I still can, LOL. Sort of an early mid life crisis I guess.
