USA

How long have you been riding professionally?
since 1989
What got you in the BMX Flatland?
My passion for two wheels and a desire to express my artistic interpretation of tricks I had seen.
Who is your sponsors? My main sponsors is
Ares bykes and ACS I have been getting support
from optic nerve sunglasses for over 3 years along
with redbull,profile,thomson,honey stinger
and my good friend and fellow rider Brian Gavigan
AKA Yellow designs
How many different locations has riding
professionally taken you?
I am very fortunate to have traveled many places in
the world. But my all time best experience was
traveling thru Japan with Flatlands wonder boy Terry
Adams doing shows for Ares. I have also spent time in
europe with Phil Dolan.
Who do you ride with on a regular basis?
I rode with Dylan Worrsley for awhile but not latley. Currently
I ride mostly by myself and a couple of locals who show up
when they can. There is a young guy named Davis from
boulder who is really good, he learns very fast and
motivates me to do the same. two years ago he was just
trying hang fives now he rides brakeless and does pedal
nose wheelies with the best of them either foot!
What is your favorite trick to do?
I love pedal death trucks and recently took off my brakes, I
use to use my brakes for that trick but have re learned it with
out so my interest in strong with that trick however I am really
pursueing the nose wheelie world. I have learned to turbine
g-turn nose wheelies and recently learned back peg nose
wheelies.
What trick 's are you working on now?
Well the list is long but some stand out tricks are whopper from right foot, left pedal nose wheelie.
Some bike variels and a forward spinning rope stuble duck to upside down mega spin to alot of other
sh*t. Along with  alot of X-footed tricks.
What was your favorite part of the AFA days?
Simply put the AFA days. Everything was cool back then we where all flatlanders/ramp riders.  Also
lets not forget I was the scooter King. Sounds dumb to some but at that time it was really cool and
opened a lot of doors for me.
What is one of your best memories from riding?
That one is really hard because I have had so many
unforgettable moments with so many people that I
can't put one over the other. Flatland life in general is
my best memory and just to give a real answer, when
I met R.L Osborn for the first time.
What is one of your worst memories from riding?
Whitchta Kansas AFA contest Lost luggage, airport 3
hrs from contest and no ride because My plane was late
so ride left me behind. no names B.N. Gray hound bus
thru the night to get there no sleep rode like sh*t
and Ron Wilkerson crashed ten feet from me and looked
as thou he was going to die!
What was your worst injury?
Paralized for several months un able to walk almost a year and a half to recover. fractured
vertabres along with nerve damage. 1990
What was your very first BMX bike?
I had hand me downs but my first real bike with the intention of doing jumps or tricks with was a
redline 500A. I bought it with bottle deposits. In Michigan where I am from there is a ten cent
bottle return and I would hit the silverdome parking lot durring football games and collect bottles. I
bought my first bike that way I was 14
What kind of bike do you ride now?
I ride the Ares dita My all time favorite bike not cause I ride for them but because it is true. I got
lucky being sponsored by Ares because I already knew that was my favorite bike.
What do you think is in the future for flatland bmx?
Hard to say trends come and go and flatland has had a lot of ups and downs. the
economy is in the toilet and we live in a sue happy society. So in the US it is hard to
say over seas it would seem big things are in the horizon. But I give props to Scott
and Terry for bring the best event on American soil to us in the form of the voodo
jam. Anything is possible.
Do you think that the X games should bring back flatland?
No we need are own events that are not overshadowed by hype and backflips. We
need a event that cares only about flatland in order to get a good venue where
every rider can shine.
Any Last Comments?
I want to thank Keith at Ares/ACS for believing in me and my commitment to promoting a
product I truly believe in. Thanks to my wife of almost 8 years for giving me the time it took
to make my come back into this sport I love much, and with no shame I can say she is the
reason I try to be the best I can at everything I do. I also have to thank everyone who rides
because, every rider motivates me and shows me a different twist on riding that I may never
have seen other wise. Peace and remember progression is worth the pain!!!!
