Words From T.J. Perry

"I think in a way flatland mimics life at large and the pursuit of knowledge and
bettering yourself. You can be a rich man who knows nothing and feel empty, or you
can be a pauper at peace with yourself and what you are, living a  life of mental
luxury at a lowest bracket of income. The money will be spent and gone, but without
the right lessons learned you'll still be left feeling without meaning. Flatland is a lot
like that in many ways. Spinning in circles, no matter how many words you describe it
in, is silly. It's not even the moves we do that matters. It's just that we've found a firm
foothold in a way that not only pushes our riding, but ourselves. I think a lot of
people forget that and in it's place put the importance of the tricks themselves over
the distance between point A and B. They forget the virtues and value of the
learning process and the joy it brings to not only overcome a trick, but yourself as
well.

Ask yourself or anyone this that rides, would you be happy riding if you could do
everything without effort?"
"Flatmonkey Bmx Press Release"

Flatmonkey Bmx owner Chris Ridener works fulltime in the military but, has expanded his Bmx efforts in 2008 and is
dedicated to outreach.  Chris does not claim to be a cutting edge rider on his way to the next big trick but, wants to ride
and have fun and help support youth.  Chris is pleased that 2008 is a year of new and exciting things.  Although SE
Bikes is not a well known brand when it come to flatland Chris has found his way back to the brand thanks to Todd
Lyons and Brett Downs.

Chris will be riding a Quadangle in 2008.  He has made numerous modifications to make it Flatland specific and the bike is working out well for
him.  Chris has been supporting a shoe company for the last year known as Airspeed Shoes. He just found an official place on their team at
Http://www.Airspeed.US Chris will be featured in some up and coming ads for Airspeed that will be released in some major Bmx magazines this
year. He is very pleased with his new sponsors but, his mission is very clear and that is outreaching to the Bmx community.  He just worked a
deal with the Boys and Girls club and Rock Bottom House in Odessa, TX.  This summer he will be doing a small school and contests for local
youth who have shown an interest in Flatland. He has spent the past three months raising money to buy some bikes for the kids who can't afford
them.
He also hopes to use his website to reach the Flatland and Bmx community.  Flatmonkey Bmx is a Christian based organization but, Chris just
hopes to add content and material to the site for everyone to enjoy.  Chris states, " I know religion can sometimes be a crazy topic especially
among Bmx riders and skateboarders however; I place all kinds of content on my site just to reach out to everyone."  He stated he also wants
riders who visit the site to know there is a donation button like most sites but, he is not looking for riders to spend their cash.   He rasies money
to benefit and outreach to riders especially new and young riders.  The donation button is for businesses who he affliates and partners with.
Chris invites anyone even non-bmx riders to visit his site and look around, click on the links, and visit often.  There is even plans for free
giveaways through the summer.  Chris has numerous sponsors this year and is working with them to help support the Bmx (Flatland community)
He is already getting items together for Voodoo Jam and the Indy Contest.   Chris told Bmx Freetyler that he wants riders to know he is here to
support them in anyway possible.   He also mentioned there is plans for numerous projects already being negotiated in 2008 and the hardest
thing he has to do now between Flatmonkey Bmx and his military job is find time to sleep.
